Nwodo remains our President- General- Ohaneze

The Vice-president of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organisation of Ndigbo, Chief Charles Odunukwe, has said that Chief John Nnia Nwodo remains the President-General of the apex socio-cultural organisation world-wide.

Odunukwe who fielded questions from newsmen Wednesday after receiving an award from the Human Right Defenders of Nigeria at the Niger Bar Association (NBA), Onitsha Bar centre, said there was nothing like removing Chief Nnia Nwodo as the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.

He said the speculation which mainly were in social media was a figment of the imagination of those who were peddling it.

Odunukwe, a Lagos based businessman and lawyer, said he was happy that most of those speculations came from social media, saying that no serious person would take stories from social media serious as almost all their stories were false.

He said ” behind me is the current leader of Ohaneze youths, Anthony Onuora with his executive. There was nothing like removing the PG. Nnia Nwodo remains our PG.All of us were elected the same day. There is no need to remove the PG or any of us. He is doing a great job for Ndigbo.We are doing well”.

He expressed hope that Ndigbo will produce the president of Nigeria in 2023 but advised them to pray fervently for God to make this hope realisable.

Odunukwe lauded the members of Human Right Defenders for good and credible job they were doing especially in intervening in areas of gross abuse of human rights of individuals by security outfits, organizations and individuals.

The Ohaneze Vice-president said he had received a lot of award but this human right award was special to him and pledged that he would work with them.
