NTTF Awaits Funds For AAG
The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NNTF) on Wednesday said that it had commenced preparations, ahead of the All African Games (AAG) scheduled for Congo Brazzaville in September.
NTTF President, Wahid Enitan-Oshodi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos that the federation was, however, still waiting for funds from the National Sports Commission (NSC).
“We have submitted our plans to the NSC since last year on what we needed to do to record success at the Games.
“However, fund is yet to be received from the NSC to facilitate some other pending plans for implementation,’’ he said.
Enitan-Oshodi, a board member of the Commonwealth Table Tennis Federation (CTTF), commended its sponsors in its preparation ahead of the Games.
“I want to specially thank our sponsors for their efforts in repositioning the sport; we are all grateful for their kind gestures,” he said.
NAN reports that Enitan-Oshodi was recently elected into the CTTF following an election held in Suzhou, China.
He became the second African on the CTTF board after Audrina Macdonald, the Treasurer.
CTTF is the highest ruling body administering table tennis among Commonwealth nations.
It has 12 members led by Briton’s Alan Ransome.
