NSE Market value gains N204 billion in three days

Equities trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange extended gains to the third day as market capitalization recorded a total increase of N204 billion.
The market capitalization which is the total market value of the shares outstanding on the NSE increased from N9.510 trillion recorded at the close of Monday’s trade and settled at N9.714 trillion on Thursday, representing a total increase of 2 percent.
The NSE All share index also added 0.72 percent to 28,101.63 basis points on Thursday, increasing the Year to date gains by 4.5 percent.
Price movement table recorded 22 gainers versus 15 losers. Oando maintained its topmost position on the gainers list with a growth of 9.59 percent to close at N9.37.
Nigerian Aviation Handling Company followed with a growth of 8.42 percent to close at N3.09 while UBA appreciated 7.85 percent to close at N7.01 per share.
Zenith Bank appreciated 5.09 percent to close at N17.97 and Portland Paint increased 5 percent to close at N2.10 per share.
On the other hand, Mobil fell 5 percent to close at N315.40 per share, Trans nationwide Express dropped 4.88 percent to close at 78 kobo and CI Leasing declined 4.48 percent to close at 64 kobo per share.
Cement Company of Northern Nigeria depreciated 4.40 percent to close at N4.78 and Jaiz Bank dropped 4.21 percent to close at 91 kobo per share.
Total volume traded settled at 353.1 million shares against 371.46 million shares traded previous session, while value traded surged to N9.2 billion compared to N3.5 billion recorded previously. Number of deals executed also increased to 4,034 from 3,910 deals recorded on Wednesday.
Zenith Bank emerged the most active in volume terms, accounting for 63.2 million shares valued at N1.1 billion.
FBN Holdings followed with 35.7 million shares worth N143.7 million and Transcorp traded 30.5 million valued at N35.7 million.
United Bank for Africa exchanged 30.1 million shares worth N209.9 million, while Diamond Bank sold 23.4 million shares valued at N22 million.
