Nigeria League all-time top scorer Mfon Udoh opened his goals account of the season on Sunday as he helped Enyimba record their first win of the season courtesy of 1-0 win over Bayelsa United.
Enyimba now have five points from three games.
Udoh, who scored 23 goals in Nigeria league last season, broke the deadlock in the 50th minute when he tapped in Daniel Etor’s corner.
The former Akwa United striker had another effort in the 30th minute cancelled.
Chinonso Okonkwo failed to score for Enyimba when he headed over the bar in the 35th minute.
Enyimba goalkeeper Chijioke Ejiogu then stopped Anthony Abawula’s goal-bound shot from 40 yards.
In the 39th minute, Daniel Etor had his 25-yard shot turned away for a corner.
Bayelsa United striker Musa Najere was sent off in the 82nd minute after he received his second booking.
