Kano Pillars Football Club on Sunday beat visiting Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC 1-0 in a week six match of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
In the match played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, first half play was entertaining and lively, with both sides wasting many goalscoring chances.
Kano Pillars’ striker Adamu Muhammad however scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute.
Several efforts by the visitors to equalise were abortive, as Kano Pillars defended tenaciously.
Speaking after the game, Pillars’ coach Kadiri Ikhana commended his players for their brilliant performance and fighting spirit.
He however lamented that the team missed the many goal scoring chances they created.

“We missed a lot of goal scoring opportunities in both halfs of the game,” Ikhana said.
ABS FC’s coach Henry Makinwa, on his players, also commended his players for their performance.
“I am pleased with the performance of the players in general and I am also satisfied with the officiating of the match.” he said.
