NPFL: Enyimba relocate to Calabar

Enyimba International Football Club has relocated to U. J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State, following the ongoing renovation works at Aba Township Stadium by the government of Abia State.
Already, the Club had been in Calabar for three weeks practicing and playing friendly matches with reputable football clubs in the country.
Confirming the relocation to Calabar, the Chairman of the Club, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu told Extra Time in Calabar that the relocation will take the whole season pending when the renovation will be completed. “We are making Calabar our new home for practice as our stadium is undergoing renovation.
The idea was to let you know that Enyimba is in Calabar and we solicit for the support of the fans,” he said.
Consequently, the club has met with various stakeholders in sports including referees association, supporters club and Sports Writers Association (SWAN).
The Chairman further revealed that the club had already recruited two players each from Rovers and Calabar City Club respectively.
Anyansi added that the presence of the club would encourage the Cross River State Government to do more about sporting activities including football.
Why the choice of Calabar? The chairman said: “Over the years, we have had good relationship with the people of Calabar. Calabar is a tourist destination; it is a familiar terrain and we are now Enyimba of Calabar.”
