Northern gov’s wives donate palliatives to vulnerable in Benue

The Forum of Northern Governor’s Wives on Saturday donated palliatives to vulnerable people in Benue state.

The wife of the Benue state governor, Mrs. Eunice Ortom, who spoke at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi on behalf of the forum, expressed her passion of love for the vulnerable, especially in this trying time of coronavirus pandemic.

While urging the vulnerable to abide by the rules provided by the action committee against COVLD-19 in the state, she stressed that the regular washing of hands and use of face masks should not be neglected.

Mrs. Orton, who distributed hands sanitizers, soaps, bags of rice and face masks in large quality charged the executive secretary of the Benue state Rehabilitation Board for the disabled to ensure judicious use of the items to uplift the standard of living of the inmates.

In her remarks, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Atoato Girgi commended the Ortom administration for giving more attention to the vulnerable in the state and sued for sustenance.

Receiving the items, the Executive Secretary of the board, Mrs. Hembadoon Gum commended the forum for the gesture and pledged to ensure equitable sharing of the donated items for the good of the inmates.
