NOC/IOC coaches course ends in Port Harcourt

The 2017 International Olympic Committee (IOC) sponsored U -16 International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Level 1 coaches educational system Olympic solidarity coaching course holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, will end on Friday, June 9, 2017.
Event coordinator, Ms Ekeoma Chinedum Ogazi, the financial officer of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) revealed that a total of 24 coaches drawn from across the country are featuring in the exercise which started on May 2 with Dr. Funmi Nutayi of the Human Kinetic Department of the University of Lagos and Professor Ezra Gunmen of the Ahmed Bello University as facilitators.
The participants at the event include, Ibrahim Friday, Ovuede Sunday, Obiano George Ezenwa, Igwebuike Akachukwu Solomon, Daniel Umoette Tom, Queen Funmilayo Obisesan, Elegbede Bamidele, Esabunor Nukie Mavuan, Yaya Kayode K., Osuagwu Chima Godwin, Osakwe Emily, Osiebe Felix Onoriode, Ugbalo Staley Abhakopa, Sogbayi Ayopo, Eyiomo Olujimi Kehinde, Iyke Chidi, Anthony Moses, Onoyanse Felix, Ajiboye Hammed O. , Odelusi Ayokunle S. and Umoru Mohammed. Others are former Nigerian internationals Deji Aliu and Maria Usifo.
Encouraged by the turn-out of coaches, Secretary General of the NOC, Hon Tunde Popoola promised that the NOC will continue to provide the enabling environment for Nigeria sports administrators including the Technical Officials to upgrade their knowledge as well as improve on their skills.
President of the NOC, Engr. Habu Gumel equally commended states for releasing their technical officials for the all important course that will not only enrich their knowledge, but also help in putting them on the IOC/NOC list.
