No plan to impeach Imo Deputy Governor-Speaker

Speaker of Imo House of Assembly, Hon Acho Ihim Thursday denied media report that the State Lawmakers have concluded plans to impeach the state Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere.

Acho in a telephone chat with Daily Times said that Prince Madumere had not committed any impeachment offence that may warrant the legislators to remove him from office.

Daily Times reports that a lobbying group from Governor Rochas Okorocha was making frantic efforts to lobby members of the house to impeach the deputy governor on trump charges for allying with APC forces against Okorocha to install his son in-law Mr. Uche Nwosu as the party flag bearer for 2019 governorship election.

The State House of Assembly Thursday removed Chief Uche Oguike, a member representing Ikeduru state constituency, an in-law to the Deputy Governor as the majority leader of the House and replaced him with Hon Lugard Osuji of Owerri Municipal Council.

The sudden change in the House of Assembly, Daily Times gathered was targeted at the Deputy Governor Prince Madumere, whom Okorocha publicly vowed to disgrace him out of office.

When contacted, the immediate past majority, Oguike told our correspondent on telephone that he learnt his removal on the floor of the house when it was announced.
