He said this on his Twitter handle as he consoled Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, over the passing of his mother, Hajiya Hauwau Oziohu Bello, aged 101,

Also President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with Bello of Kogi praying that almighty God will comfort her family and loved ones.

The PDP senator, who was a member of the 8th Nigerian National Assembly said: “May the soul of the mother of Governor Yahaya Bello rests in peace. May God grant the governor and the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. No mother is old enough to die. My condolences.”

The President’s condolence message was conveyed in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Sunday.

The President urged the governor, family members and all associates of Hajiya Bello to find solace in the grace of long life given to the matriarch, and her strength of character in bringing up her children, grandchildren and great-grand children in fear of God.

President Buhari lauded the deceased for promoting strong moral values in her community during her life time.

According to him, the legacies of generosity, kindness and virtue that Hajiya Bello lived by, and consistently advocated will always be remembered.

The President urged the family and all citizens of Kogi State to immortalize the matriarch by promoting her values, praying that God would grant her soul peaceful rest.

The Northern Governors’ Forum(NGF) too condoled with Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi, over his mother’s death.

The Forum in a condolence message on Sunday by its chairman and Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, prayed for eternal rest for the soul of Hajiya Hauwa’u Oziohu Bello.

Lalong in the message by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham, in Jos, also condoled with Bello’s family and the people of Kogi over the death of the centenarian.

He said the death of the Matriarch, at the age of 101, was sad, urging the family to be comforted that she lived a long, fruitful and blessed life to see many generations of her family.

“Mama lived a life of testimony, having persevered through the struggles of life and raising children that have become major contributors to the growth and development of not only Kogi, but the nation as a whole.

“We can only celebrate her and pray that God almighty grants her soul eternal rest and comfort the family and her loved ones,” he said.

The NGF chairman urged her children, grandchildren and great-grand children to emulate her virtues.

Lalong said during her life time, she demonstrated the fear of God, promoted good moral values of honesty, charity, forgiveness, tolerance and harmony in her community.
