NO END IN SIGHT OVER APC CRISIS

Signs of cracks in the ranks of the All Progressives Congress is getting more evident with the absence of some APC stalwarts from the grand finale of the party’s rally in Ondo State Governorship Elections. This according to Political Watchers is a sign that things are not right in the party.

The absence of some APC stalwarts from the grand finale of the party’s rally for the Ondo State Governorship election has been a source disagreement among some members of the party.

The absence of the National leader of the party Bola Tinubu and Governors of Oyo, Osun and Lagos States at the rally attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and some top government officials according to observers is the climax of their protests against the candidature of Rotimi Akeredolu as the flag bearer of the party on next Saturday’s Governorship Election.

The Chairman, APC Governorship Campaign Committee, Solomon Lalong told journalists on Monday that Bola Tinubu was absent due to health challenges. But in a swift reaction, Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, a staunch supporter of the South-West political godfather described the health claims of Lalong as untrue.

Efforts to get official position of the party on the claims of the two parties was unsuccessful as the spokesperson of the party refuses to comment on the matter.

But as events unfold, observers say the cold war within the ruling party if not properly managed could snowball into having another political party in the days ahead.
