Nnamdi Kanu meets bail conditions
The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, a separatist group in South-eastern Nigeria, Nnamdi Kanu, has perfected his bail conditions.
Lawyer to Kanu, Mr Ifeanyi Ejiofor and senators from the South-east disclosed the development in Abuja on Friday.
Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja had on Tuesday granted bail Kanu on health grounds.
But the judge directed that Kanu must satisfy certain conditions before he could regain his temporary freedom.
The conditions included having ‘a highly respected’ Jewish leader, a ‘senior highly placed person of Igbo extraction such as a senator’; and a highly respected person who owns landed property and is resident in Abuja as sureties.
