NLC decries gale of defection, urges politicians to safeguard democracy
The Bayelsa Chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged politicians to stop the gale of defection and play politics by the rules to safeguard democracy in the country.
The state Chairman of NLC, Mr John Ndiomu, gave the advice in an interview with journalists on Friday in Yenagoa.
Ndiomu decried the gale of defection from one party to another and urged political actors to focus on what would drive development for the people.
The chairman cautioned against repeating the old mistakes, stressing that defection would not impact on national development in any form like job creation and provision of basic amenities.
