NITDA attains ServiCom four star index rating

The National Coordinator’s Office of SERVICOM has rated the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Service Charter above average in its service delivery barely two of unveiling the charter.
ServiCom was inaugurated in 2003 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a public service compact with Nigerians for quality service delivery.
Announcing the rating of the Agency, the National Coordinator’s Office of SERVICOM represented by the Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, chief ServiCom Officer said NITDA has achieved a 2.4 index rate out of available 4.0.
Akajemeli stated that the presentation of the SERVICOM index became imperative in order to improve on the service the Agency is rendering to the general public.
“I believe that with this rating the Agency has achieved in less than two months of unveiling the charter, the management would not relent on its desire to achieve a five star rating index,” she said.
She advised the Agency to improve on the qualities of service to the public as stated in the Charter.
The Acting National Coordinator of SERVICOM charged the management to aim at continuous improvement on the quality of service delivery to its customers by implementing the recommendations contained in the report.
Dr. Vincent Olatunji, acting Director General, NITDA assured that the Agency is committed to ensuring that services are delivered in the most effective and efficient manner.
He affirmed that the change agenda of this present administration has made it compelling for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to improve on their service delivery in order to make the agenda a reality.
He disclosed that NITDA is an Agency charged with the responsibility to diversify the country’s economy from oil and based on its mandate would not do anything less in improving on the quality of service it is rendering.
“NITDA is positioned as an Agency to ensure that ICT is used as a driver of other sectors of the economy, especially at this present time that the revenue from oil is dwindling,” he said.
The acting DG NITDA commended the SERVICOM Compliance Evaluation Team for their diligence and effective way of creating enlightenment among Nigerians.
