NiRA to engage new registrars at last quarter forum

NiRA has expressed willingness to engage new registrars to galvanise the processes in its efforts to ensure adoption of .ng domain names across the country.‎

NiRA which is the manager of .ng country code Top Level Domain operates the 3R model of operation; that is, Registry Registrar Registrant mode of operation.

NiRA does not register domain names directly to the registrant, who are the end users and so because of the business model and relationship adopted, NiRA holds the quarterly Registrars’ Forum with the aim of physically interacting with the Registrars.

This helps to foster closer working relationship and provides opportunities for both NiRA and its Accredited Registrars to understand the business thrust.

Both NiRA and the Accredited Registrars communicate their business challenges, discuss and proffer solutions. Of course, several online discussions are conducted on the domain name industry and the trends in the domain name business.

NiRA continues to accredit new Registrars as the applications are being received and evaluated. The process of becoming a NiRA accredited registrar can be found on NiRA website.

NiRA said the last quarter of Registrars’ forum is scheduled to hold at 11:00am on the 2nd of December 2016 at NiRA Office Complex, 8 Funsho Williams Avenue, Iponri Surulere, Lagos State.
