NIMC Launches Pre Enrolment Portal to Ease NIN Registration

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a Pre Enrolment Portal aimed at improving efficiency and user experience in the National Identification Number (NIN) registration process.

The digital platform allows applicants within Nigeria and in the Diaspora to capture and submit their biodata online before visiting enrolment centres for biometric capture.

According to the Commission, the initiative is designed to reduce congestion and waiting time at enrolment centres nationwide.

NIMC said in a statement in Abuja Friday that the portal also enables appointment scheduling, online upload of supporting documents and improved data accuracy, as applicants directly input their information.

Enhanced security features according to the commission have been incorporated to ensure secure and confidential handling of personal data.

The Commission noted that the introduction of the Pre Enrolment Portal aligns with its broader technology driven reforms under the leadership of the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Abisoye Coker Odusote.

It added that the initiative supports the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which prioritises efficient public service delivery, digital transformation and inclusive national development.

“With this platform, the enrolment process becomes faster, more accurate and more convenient for applicants, while also improving operational efficiency for the Commission,” NIMC stated.

Prospective NIN applicants have been encouraged to utilise the portal to enjoy a smoother enrolment experience saying the Pre Enrolment Portal is accessible at penrol.nimc.gov.ng.

NIMC said the initiative further demonstrates its commitment to building a reliable and sustainable digital identity ecosystem to support national development.
