Nigeria’s War Not Religious But Criminalty, Bad Governance, Corruption, Institutional Failure – ADP

The Action Democratic Party, ADP has said the ongoing war in the country against bandits is not religious, but cropped out of criminality, bad governance, corruption and institutional failure.
National Chairman of the opposition party, Engr Yabagi Yusuf Sani stated this in Abuja on Saturday, while commending and appreciating the assistance, Nigeria recieved from the United States of America, USA, and other nations in the fight against banditry and insurgency in the country.
He said: “We acknowledge and appreciate the assistance Nigeria has received from the United States and other nations in the fight against banditry and insurgency.
“We recognise intelligence support and cooperation where it has helped, saved Nigerian lives. But let us speak with absolute clarity.
“Nigeria’s war is not a religious war. Nigeria’s problem is criminality, bad governance, corruption, and institutional failure.
“Any attempt by foreign interests, media narratives, or local collaborators to dress Nigeria’s insecurity in religious colours is dangerous and unacceptable. We have seen this trick before. It was used in the Middle East.
“It was used in divided societies across the world. It always starts with ‘help’ and ends with endless war, broken nations, and generations of bloodshed. Nigeria must not walk that path.”
Engr Yabagi further stressed that if insecurity in Nigeria is framed as a war of religion or identity, it will not end banditry, but will ignite a wider conflict that will consume innocent people and threatens the very existence of Nigeria as one united country.
“We reject that future. This country belongs to Muslims, Christians, and people of all beliefs. Nigeria belongs to North, South, East, and West and Nigeria will defeat insecurity together, or not at all.
“Let no one deceive us: No foreign power will love Nigeria more than Nigerians.
No outsider will protect Nigeria better than Nigerians united, and no so-called help is worth the price of national division.
“We welcome cooperation, but we reject control. We accept assistance, but we reject manipulation and we value partnership, but reject any narrative that turns Nigerians against one another.
“The Action Democratic Party, stands firmly for One Nigeria, One people, with one constitutional order and Zero tolerance for sectarian war.
“We will not replace today’s insecurity with tomorrow’s civil conflict. We will not trade short-term support for long-term destruction. We will not allow Nigeria to become another cautionary tale.
“Nigeria must remain united, sovereign and must win this fight as one people,” he added.
