Nigeria’s president Buhari declares to run again in 2019, Aide says

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to run for a second term and contest elections in February next year, according to his personal assistant.
“Buhari has just officially announced his intention to seek re-election in 2019,” Bashir Ahmad said Monday in a tweet. “Details soon,” he said.
Buhari, 75, made the announcement to the national executive committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of the northern state of Kaduna and a close ally of the president, said in a separate tweet.
