The senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sen. Theodore Ahamefule Orji has advised youths and Nigerians in general to support the unity of Nigeria as a country and to also try to make the desired change.

Sen. Orji was speaking exclusively with Daily Times in Umuahia after a wedding he attended, urging them to be steadfast with whatever they are doing in view of the challenging hard times in the country, whileasking them to have hope.

In his message to his constituents and Nigerians at large, the Senator said, “My Christmas/New Year message to my constituents is for them to have hope.

I know that things are difficult, but we know that God is alive and things will eventually change. Let them be steadfast with whatever they are doing, let them support the unity of this country and let them also try to make a change”.

To enable them adjust to face the challenging times, he urged people to imbibe agriculture and skills acquisition as “these are the things that can keep them busy, that can bring in income for them. They can do that to run away from this economic hardship”.

As an alternative to oil and in order to cushion the current hardship, the Federal Government, he said through the federal ministry of agriculture is doing their best to ensure the country diversifies the economy to agriculture and other areas, an innovation in governance, stating “If we can, and if every person can do that, I think it will help the economy”.

Excited by some youths he saw having their meeting at the venue of the event and who happened to by members of Igboist Group, Abia State Chapter who ran to him prostrating while hailing him, the senator advised them that as 2019 election is around the corner, that as youths, most of them have no jobs,

hence the need for them to look for people who will care for them and provide the most needed jobs for them, and vote for such people.

He urged them to ensure they get their PVCs as their voting power to be able to participate in the next general elections in the state.

“You have seen that the PDP is really working. When the election time comes, be ready to change the change”, he told them stating that he saw them as future leaders in the state and the nation at large.
