Nigerians in Diaspora hail Buhari over member’s appointment

A Europe-based think tank group of Nigerians, the Nigerian Leadership Forum, has commended the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing one of their members, Mr. Charles Efe Emukowhate as a member of the board of the Nigerian Ports Authority.

The president had recently reconstituted the boards of NPA and the Nigerian Maritime administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.

In a statement, on Tuesday, NLF spokesman, Mr. Alistair Soyode, said that the appointment of Emukowhate, such a highly skilled, experienced Diaspora entrepreneur and philanthropist showed that the president is taking account of successful Nigerians in the Diaspora to reposition the nation.

The NLF spokesman, who sought more engagement of Nigerians in Diaspora under President Buhari, said, “Having Mr. Emukowhate who had showed his tenacity, business acumen and knowledge of international practice can only make the NPA more profitable. I am also kindly praying that our president will continue to tap the resources of Nigerians who have made their mark abroad in all aspects of business   into other agencies and parastatals in the country, which would create giant strides for President Buhari’s administration. It is for the benefit of Nigerians at the long run.”

Soyode further described Emukowhate as a London-based entrepreneur and a leading African employer of Labour in  Europe, whose company manages more than two hundred staff and a community leader empowering   Nigerian communities in the UK and across Europe.

He added that apart from his engagements abroad, Emukowhate has been sponsoring more  than 60 orphans who are suffering from the HIV/AIDS in Kaduna.
