Nigerian traders demand reopening of businesses in Ghana
The National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) has expressed its grievances over the recent deportation of 72 Nigerians from Ghana, and the shutting down of Nigerian Businesses in parts of that country.
The association issued a seven- day ultimatum to the Nigerian government and the Ghanaian government to reopen all closed Nigerian businesses in Ghana and work out ways to tackle the lingering crisis between both countries
Following a peaceful protest in Abuja on Monday, NANTS and the Nigerian Union of Traders in Ghana, filed a petition to the ECOWAS Commission demanding the urgent action against what they termed “xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in Ghana.”
The legal advisor, NANTS, Barrister Legborsi Nwaibu, in Abuja on Monday led the delegation of Nigerian traders to the Ghanaian Embassy, stated that over 400 Nigerians businesses have been shot down in Kumasi, Asante region of Ghana.
