Nigerian Air Force activate troops to beef up Plateau security

Air Commodore Eeimobo Ebiowe, the Commander Commanding 205 Combat Search and Rescue Group, in Kerang Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Tuesday received 35 Special Forces trained at the Air Force Special Operations Command in Bauchi State.

The troops equipped with additional competency were trained to support the fight against all forms of insecurity in the State, AVM Charles Ohwo, the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command Bauchi, have said.

Ohwo who lead the troops to Plateau, said they were part of 94 special forces and 30 search and rescue personnel trained recently by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

Addressing the troops Ohwo said, “I want to congratulate you all for successfully going through search and rescue course.

“You are first regiment personnel, then Special Forces and now you have additional competency of search and rescue

“Today, you are deployed to Kerang, your mother base to add to the security architecture in Plateau.

“You have additional competency, and I also expect you to be disciplined and professional in your conduct,” he said 

Our correspondent however reports that the troops who arrived the State on board NAF aircraft around 8:50 am are to assist in halting banditry, farmers/herders crisis that has hitherto bedeviled the State.
