Nigeria set to hold second edition of agro food fair

The second edition of the Nigeria agro food exhibition which is set to commence on the 26th of April will pull together more than 70 technology leaders from 19 countries to display their latest solutions on food and drink technology.

With over 1,300 visitors expected, representatives of listed and unlisted companies under the agriculture and consumer goods sector are also expected to be in attendance.

A statement made available by the organisers indicated that the three-day fair put together by the German trade show specialists, will take place at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island Lagos, and will bring together, participants from countries like Austria, Benin, China, France, Germany, India, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and USA.

It explained that Nigeria supports the Nigerian agrofood industry to meet its challenges in terms of food hygiene, food safety, cost efficiency and creating an ever greater diversity of food and beverage products.

Martin März, Managing Director of the German trade show specialists fairtrade, stated that ““It is all about technological exchange and cooperation between Nigerian food and drink producers and international specialists for food ingredients and food and packaging technology.”

Agrofood & plastprintpack Nigeria 2016 is supported by the delegation of the European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Advantage Austria, delegation of German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nigeria, Nigerian-German Business Association and Institute of Packaging, Nigeria.

The German Engineering Federation will host a German Pavilion and Symposium on food and drink while the French Agro-food Association will host the French Pavilion, featuring French live bakery (one of the fair’s highlights) demonstrating how to create delicate croissants and other sweets and snacks.
