Nigeria should invest more in tourism

To be able to make money in tourism, Nigeria should take a cue from Kenya and South Africa and invest more in tourism development across the country.
Mr. George Machgraegry, a foreign tourist gave the advice recently at Nike Lake Resort in the city of Abapka Nike in Enugu while speaking on Nigeria tourism.
Machgraegry said that tourism in Scotland was already a very big one, advising that he would like Nigerian to invest more on tourism. This he said would attract money for the country in many years to come and they would be able to make money out of it.
The tourists who applauded Kenya and South Africa, two countries which seems to have taken a lead in Africa said “well it depends on how often tourist do visit Nigeria unlike Scotland. Tourism in Scotland is a big one and I have been here for six weeks. I do not think there are many people come to the hotel. It is a very big business for Scotland but here they lack the basic infrastructure for tourism as there is no beach here for tourist”.
The foreigner who has lodged in the hotel for more than six weeks described Nike Lake Resort and the workforce as very friendly, stresses that, he has been coming to the hotel.
Commenting on Nike Lake Resort, one of their guest Daniel Okonkwo who claimed he came from Port Harcourt with her sister said, the place was good and he would wants to visit again.
Another guest, Ruth Madukwe a graduate of Institute of Management and Technology told Business News she has been patronizing the resort right from her school days, adding that she likes visiting their bush bar. ” I think their unique selling point is the serenity of the environment”, she informed.
According to Chinyere Akpo, who described the Swimming Pool as cool and neat, whenever she comes to the resort. “Well, as a teenager I have been swimming but immediately I got married I stopped. But I feel well. It reminds me of my teenager. I would be coming so I could pick up again”, she noted
According to Mr. Mike Onuoha, Who stated that, he was there for the first time, also said he found it very comfortable with a uniquely environment.
“I am here to explore and I have gone round to see the Lake honestly I say to myself I have to becoming here”. Mike noted, adding that Security should be improved which for now is very ok.
” So I thank God I am here today, I have been able to see things and I can say the place is nice. I do not think they lack anything”, Onuoha said.
For Ifeanyinwa Onwuhuoha, the place is not doing badly. She said the place was a commendable relaxation centre for all class of people.
“I do come here every day to catch fun. Sometimes I come with friends too. I love their gym centre, swimming pool and tennis court. Though, Nike Lake is an old place, it still meets the taste of this time”, she said.
When Business News visited the resort, it was observed that the Nike Lake Resort is very attractive to its guest and a “home” for most of the visitors. A new visitor will quickly observe the incomparable warm greetings from the well dressed men at the security post and even up till the reception point.
The wide landscaping with natural inhabitation in the surrounding such as the lake and other attractions are some of their Unique Selling point.
