Niger State Govt pledges commitment to sports devt
The Niger State Government has pledged its commitment towards development of sports, so as to engage the teeming youths in the state.
The state’s Commissioner of Sports, Mr Emmanuel Babur, made this known in an interview with news men on Wednesday in Minna.
“The state government has commenced construction of Bahago sports complex in Minna and very soon rehabilitation of 123 indoor sports hall in Minna will start.
“Also other sports facilities in Bida and Kontagora will be given priority attention in order to promote sports development and engage our teeming youths meaningfully,’’ he said.
Babur said the ministry was also collaborating with the ministry of education to organise school sports toward grassroots sports development known as catch them young.
