Niger INEC REC urges citizens to collect their PVC

The Niger state Independent National Election Commission (INEC), Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Samuel Ekwu has appealed to citizens of Niger state to come out and collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).
He said that 194,835 PVCs in the state have not been collected, lamenting that some PVCs are from the 2011 voters registration exercise.
Speaking to journalists in Minna, the Commissioner said that the uncollected PVCs include 132,000 PVCs from the 2011 to 2014 exercise, 56,223 PVCs from the 2017 continuous voters registration and 6,612 PVCs for transfer cases.
He urged all stakeholders to mobilize the people and create awareness for them to collect their PVCs.
“The mobilisation of Niger citizens to collect their PVCs is the only way they can meaningful participate in the 2019 elections, register their voice and position themselves to enforce political accountability.
