Niger Commissioner seeks stronger relationship with state Assembly

In order to promote partnership for the attainment of the sustainable working relationship between Niger State House of Assembly and Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Mu’azu Hamidu Jantabo has paid a working visit to the Speaker of the House .

Hon. Jantabo stated that the essence of the visit was to reinforce the existing relationship between the Ministry and House of Assembly in order to have a well coordinated and efficient working relationship.

The Commissioner who was in the company of Chairman Agaie Local Government, Hon. Sayuti Ibrahim Halilu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Abubakar Aliyu, Director Finance, Mohammed Bashir Ubale said the Ministry is poised to change the narrative towards the actualization of the Bago led administration.

Responding, the speaker of the House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji appreciated the visit even as he emphasize that his relationship with the Ministry has come a long way since when he was a Local Government Chairman and as a Commissioner of the Ministry.

He therefore assured a robust working relationship for the overall development of the State.

The Commissioner was also in the office of the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government Affairs, Hon. Bello Bako where they both harped on pertinent issues that are geared towards promoting and enhancing Local Government Administration

Earlier, Hon. Jantabo received in his office the new Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Niger State Chapter Chairman, Hon. Iliyasu Zakari who were on a courtesy visit with his team.

In his address, the Chairman said the essence of their visit was to put in place stronger synergy between the Ministry and ALGON.

In his response, Jantabo expressed his profound gratitude for the visit and reaffirm his readiness to strengthen the alliance for effective representation and enhanced service delivery at the Local Government level.

Equally, Jantabo met with the management of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Niger State wing, led by the State Monitor, Government Business Tax Office, Mallam Yakubu Saidu who were in the Ministry to Congratulate the Commissioner on his appointment.

Yakubu expressed satisfaction on the Ministry for it’s exceptional performance in paying it’s taxes regularly, listing the Ministry as among the Non defaulting MDA’s when it comes to payment of taxes

While thanking them for the visit, Jantabo assured them that the Ministry shall continue to maintain the status quo of performance.
