New CCII Executives Pledge Full Realisation Of Ibadan Agenda

 

The newly elected executive members of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes(CCII) have indicated their readiness to ensure rapid development and full realisation of Ibadan agenda.

The executive led by the newly elected President, Chief Wole Akinwande, a former President of Omo Ajorosun Club, told newsmen on Monday in Ibadan.

Akinwande said that the council would ensure that the collective interest of the city was a priority than self-serving purposes.

“We shall see to the timely completion of the ongoing building project of the new Olubadan Palace. Our administration shall also fight for the creation of Ibadan State.

“It is part of my agenda to also work towards youth employment‎ and the development of basic infrastructure that are befitting for a 21st Century state capital,” he said.

Chief Akinwande had on Saturday during the CCII election‎ defeated his closest rival, Chief Yemi Soladoye, to emerge as the 6th president of CCII.

Also, the immediate Past Publicity Secretary of CCII, Mr. Oluwaseye Ogunsina‎ described Chief Bayo Oyero-led administration as one which has set remarkable precedents.

Ogunsina said that the Council acknowledged the positive contributions of the past executives headed by Oyero, urging the incumbent to emulate such.

“Chief Oyero’s tenure set remarkable precedent. His administration initiated a modern library scheme and a tastefully equipped cybercafe.

“It also embarked on the restructring of the headquarters of CCII and worked tirelessly towards giving due recognition to traditional institutions in Ibadanland,”he said
