NDLEA to rid campaign offices off hard drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has embarked on monitoring of political parties’ campaign offices in Anambra State to rid the offices off hard drugs and other dangerous substances inimical to the electoral process.

The agency said that the forthcoming governorship election is significant and as such the organisation has a pivotal role to play in providing security especially as it concerns making sure that political parties do not convert their campaign offices to dens for smoking cannabis and other narcotics.

Disclosing the agency’s programme of activities for the election period, Anambra State Commander, Mr. Sule Mommodu, stated that the agency’s sole responsibility is to ensure that politicians do not have access to drugs and other hard substances especially as they go about their political activities this season.

Mommodu noted that the agency equally prevents politicians from thuggery and all forms of rascality, stressing that they are working with the police as well as other security agencies especially where there are threats to lives and property.
