NDE empowers 200 beneficiaries with start up capital in Niger

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has provided start-up capital to 200 selected beneficiaries from the Suleja Emirate Council in Niger state.
The beneficiaries were those trained in different small scale businesses in collaboration with a non-governmental organization, Mahdul Taqwa Foundation.

The beneficiaries were earlier trained by the directorate under its micro- economic enhancement scheme were at the weekend given seed money to grow their individual businesses in to fruition hence they were selected by the organization and funded by the former Minister of Solid Minerals, Abubakar Bwari.
NDE Director General, Dr. Nasir Argungu represented by Muhammadu Jimada assured that the agency will not relent in ensuring that Nigerians become productive in all spheres and business endeavours, and urged the beneficiaries to be determined to succeed through hard work and commitment.
He said that starting small may be hard, but growing up the business is much easier if there is the commitment and determination to succeed, notifying the beneficiaries to count themselves lucky to be selected for the training programme.
Argungu maintained that the directorate will continue to discharge its core mandate to redress, create job opportunities and empower the citizens of this country.
He noted that the beneficiaries consist of youths and women into small scale businesses.

Bwari in his remarks commended the federal government and NDE for stemming unemployment in the country through programmes that provide jobs for millions of Nigerians may, but stated however, that this objective may not be realized without partnership from private and corporate bodies.
He said that “what we have been doing is to plant seeds and hope they grow into fruits for the benefit of humanity.”
Speaker of the Niger state House of Assembly, Abdullahi Wuse, the state commissioners for information and environment, local government chairmen attended the event held in Suleja.
