The Director-General, National Council for Arts and culture (NCAC) Otunba Segun Runsewe has stated that the formal opening of the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport (NAA)Abuja within the promised time frame will rob off positively on all agencies of government saddled with national projects to fast track delivery on expectations and promises, thereby accelerating national development.
Abuja Airport was closed by the Federal Government for six weeks between March 7 to April 19.2017 to carry out major repair on the only runway in the gateway airport.
The Minister had said that he would resign if the project was not delivered by April 19, 2017 as planned.
He assured that NCAC will pursue the change in orientation and also raise the faith of ordinary Nigerians on government policy decisions.
The NCAC DG commended the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Serika for keeping to the promise of reopening Abuja Airport within the time frame.
He noted that the development has greatly improved and changed the perception of Nigerians and foreign observers to government assurances to deliver on dividends of democracy.
According to him, “Senator Hadi Sirika has got guts and knows his onions as a pilot and Senator, noting that his positive and exemplary attitude is welcomed by all Nigerians”.
He called on Nigerians to embrace the culture of trusting and praying for those in leadership positions and where possible become agents of change through positive contributions and showing unwavering faith and trust in government promises to turn around the economy and restore the pride of Nigeria as destination for culture and tourism.
