Natural Solutions for Removing Stains and Odours from Clothing
- Prevent and remove sweat stains
Those horrible stains and yellow discolorations on the armpits of your favourite white T-shirt (or shirt) need not distress you anymore. Fill an empty spray bottle with water and lemon juice, spray the mixture on the sweat stain and rinse before washing.
- Odourless trainers
To remove (and prevent) bad odours from your trainers after an exercise workout, or after wearing them casually for some time, pour a little baking soda inside the trainers to eliminate bad smells and to soak up sweat.
- Say goodbye to red wine stains
Red wine is notoriously known to permanently ruin whatever surface or clothing it comes into contact with. Need a simple solution? Just pour some white wine over the red wine stain, preventing the stain from setting.
- Undo chewing gum disasters
Being a casualty of chewing gum stuck on clothing can be a cause of frustration. An easy method for removing gum from clothing, furniture, your hair or anywhere else is using ice. Getting the gum as cold as possible hardens it, making it easier to scrape off.
- Remove lipstick stains
Spray lipstick stains with hairspray and let it sit for a few minutes before washing the garment.
- No stain-souvenirs left on suede.
To get rid of any surface dirt from your suede shoes or clothing, remove the crust from a loaf of bread and allow it to become stale. Gently rub the edge of the stale bread over dirt and stains and watch them magically disappear.
- Removing water stains on leather
As for watermarks on leather boots, a few drops of vinegar in a bowl of cool water does the trick. Just dip a soft bristle brush in the mixture and gently scrub the stains until they are no more. Finally, let your leather boots dry naturally outside in the open air
