National Labour Advisory council inauguration

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, representing President Muhammadu Buhari expressed this commitment at the inauguration of the National Labour Advisory Council in Owerri, Imo state.
Seated in this hall are labour leaders, government functionaries and employers from both the public and private sector.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige recalls that since 2014 the council had not convened due to administrative challenges.
But to achieve enduring tripartite relationship between labour and Government, the council is being inaugurated to work as mediator between government, Labour Union and workers.
Osinbajo speaks on the efforts to ensure adequate welfare package for workers.
Governor Hope uzodimma is optimistic that the Advisory Council will minimize reccuring issues between labour and workers.

The Federal Government has reteriated it’s determination to prioritize workers welfare.
For the President Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Comrade Ayuba Waba, the Council is to forster peace among the Stakeholders.
It is expected that the new Advisory Council will bring about positive change for the benefits of the Labour Sector in Nigeria.
