NASU tackles FG on illegal inclusion of employees on employment list
The Jos chapter of Non Academic Staff Union (NASU ), of Educational and Associated Institutions of Inter Country Center for oral Health (ICOH), of Africa in Plateau State, on Friday lamented what they termed the Illegal addition of employees and illegal substitution of those legally selected.
The union in a letter of complaint to the Director and CEO and internal management, jointly signed by Comrade Elias Damuan ICOH Branch chairman and Comrade Samuel Gambo Pam ICOH Branch Secretary, a copy made available to our correspondent, states that 14 names of those who did not go through the normal process of employment are found on employment list.
According to the statement, “we understand that the names of the 13 selected new employees during the recruitments exercise of 2014 were finally captured in the 2018 budget this gladdens our hearts as more competent hands will soon join us in the center for greater productivity.
“However it has come to our notice that you and your management have decided to add another 14 names to the 14 duly selected, without any advertisement, interview or proper selection; in fact some of you and your favored staff have smuggled in names of your children and blood brothers.
“Also we understand that you have doctored the initial list of the selected 13 persona who passed through a very vigorous process, with officials of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) and Federal Character Commission taking part, that you have substituted some names and reduced the grade levels of some of them, without any authorization.
“funny again, we noticed that you have gone ahead to write to IPPIS office in Abuja to do the biometric data capture of the new employees with the active connivance of the accounts department without issuing letters of employment indicating the designations and grade levels this indeed is very strange to us and to administrative transparency,
it is also a very corrupt practices which we will not accept ,therefore ,we want this corruption stopped immediately ,you cannot pad the center,s nominal roll beyond the number presented and captured in our 2018 personal budget your backdoor smuggling of new names without due process stings of terrible corruption.
“Pls note that we have the names of the thirteen selected persons during the interview of 2014, any strange name included on our nominal roll will not be accepted: ‘a stitch in time saves nine’, we are committed to progress of the center and pledge our support to a corrupt free and transparent management”, the statement reads.
