Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has approved the reopening of worship centres in the state for the period of two weeks.

He gave the approval in a joint council and security meetings held at Government House, Lafia on Tuesday.
According to him, the two -week temporal measure would enable the task force on COVID-19 in the state to monitor and ascertain the level of compliance of worshipers on social distancing, hand washing and use of hand sanitizers before completely lifting the total ban.

He called on religious leaders in the state to abide by the laid down procedure of the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to prevent further spread of the disease as they congregate.
Governor Sule, who also confirmed 33 cases of coronavirus in the state, added that 13 were active cases, 19 persons discharged and recorded one death in the state.
