NANS committee inaugurates new EXCO in Enugu

The Joint Campus Committee (JCC) of National Association of Nigerian students has inaugurated new executive in Enugu State. JCC is committee of NANS that coordinates activities of all tertiary institutions campuses in every state and zone.

In a remark Mr. Chidi IIogebe, the outgone chairman of JCC in Enugu State while handing over to the new chairman Mr. Joshua Ezeja in Nsukka at University of Nigeria Nsukka, urged the new chairman to carry everybody along as that was the secret of his administration’s success.

IIogebe said some of the achievements of his administration include: ensuring harmony among students in different tertiary institutions in Enugu state, attracted coaster bus from state government and negotiated the recall of over 500 students of institute of Management Technology (IMT) expelled by school management over exam malpractice.

“My administration achieved all these because I carried everybody along.

“My prayer is that my successor will record more achievements more than me, ” he said.

In his inaugural speech, Ezeja thanked students in Enugu State for the confidence they reposed on him by electing him as their chairman and promised to do his best to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor.

‘” Today is a historic day for the JCC community, not because I stand before you as the new chairman but for what this day represents.

“JCC will continue the movement for the revolution of our educational system as well as good welfare of students.”

“I thank students from different tertiary institutions in Enugu State immensely for electing me as the chairman of JCC in English Enugu State and I promised I will not disappoint them, ” he said

Ezeja advised all Nigerian students to take their studies seriously so as to achieve their academic dreams as well as contribute meaningfully to national development since educate remain the power house towards achieving life ambitions.

Earlier in a remark, Mr Chika Nzelu, the Pioneer chairman of JCC in Enugu State who led other stakeholders of NANS and JCC in South East to the inauguration ceremony expressed confidence that Joshua being the immediate past president of Students Union Government of UNN had the required leadership qualities to take JCC in Enugu State to the next level.

I am happy on the achievement of the outgone chairman and I am also optimistic that the incumbent chairman will achieve more,

“The. smooth transition today is eloquent testimony of harmony and good leadership of NANS/JCC in Enugu State,” he said.

Nzelu urged students in Enugu State to support Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi second term bid as he had through his kind gesture to students shown himself as the most students’ friendly governor in Enugu State since the creation of the state.

Other inaugurated executive members of JCC in Enugu State include Juliet Obinta, vice-chairman, Darlington Ugwuegbe general secretary, Patrick Asogwa, director of welfare.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by students from UNN, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Institute of Management and Technology, Federal College of Education Eha-Amufu and other tertiary institutions in Enugu State.
