Naira Marley to be arraigned for violating COVID-19 order

Popular Nigerian artiste, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, is in court for violating the COVID-19 order over his Abuja concert.

DailyTimes gathered that at Lagos State Special Offences Court at Ikeja, the police had filed charges against him for violating the COVID-19 order banning interstate travels earlier put in place to restrict the rampart coronavirus spread.

According to report, the marlian trendsetter flew from Lagos in a charted jet for the Federal Capital Territory to perform in a concert on Saturday, July 13, held at the Jabi Lake Mall

Reports further said that it didn’t augur well with the public.

Meanwhile, DailyTimes learnt that following the act, the mall and the airline whose plane he chartered, were disallowed to continue operations.

Consequently, the Inspector-General of Police has called for the arrest of the superstar

However, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said Naira Marley presented himself at the command headquarters on Thursday.

“We are in court as we speak. He will be arraigned for violating the interstate travel order. That is the aspect that concerns Lagos State,” he added.
