NAICOM, BPP Move to Deepen Procurement, Insurance Synergy
The Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, has paid a working visit to the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr Adebowale A. Adedokun, in Abuja to strengthen institutional collaboration.
The visit focused on deepening cooperation between both agencies in line with NAICOM’s strategic objective of promoting inter-agency partnership. Speaking during the meeting, Mr Omosehin reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to transparency, fairness and strict regulatory compliance in its engagements with sister agencies.
He assured his host that NAICOM, under his leadership, would maintain rigorous adherence to claims settlement processes, solvency requirements and established regulatory standards to safeguard policyholders and enhance public confidence in the insurance sector.
Mr Omosehin also expressed appreciation to the BPP Director-General for his sustained support to NAICOM, affirming that all insurance-related matters would continue to be handled in strict compliance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The meeting also provided an opportunity to advance discussions on the implementation of the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025.
In his response, Dr Adedokun thanked the Commissioner for the visit and reiterated his commitment to fostering greater synergy between the BPP and NAICOM. He pledged to reciprocate the gesture with an official visit to NAICOM headquarters in the near future.
The BPP Director-General urged stakeholders to strengthen inter-agency cooperation to improve accountability, efficiency, and public trust across the procurement and insurance sectors.
