NAHCON pledges support to improve Hajj operations

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has pledged its determination to take pilgrimage operation to the best international standards in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan, gave the assurance when he paid an unscheduled visit to the head office of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Abuja, Daily Times gathered.

Hassan said the commission is taking necessary measures and would leave no stones unturned to improve hajj management for the benefit of Nigerian Pilgrims.

The chairman explained that the commission will involve all relevant stakeholders to provide first hand services to the intending pilgrims.

He said the commission would continue to support all states’ pilgrims welfare Boards, Agencies and Commissions in ensuring that they provide excellent services to the pilgrims from their respective states.

Receiving the delegation at the board’s premises, its director, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru Danmallam, expressed happiness over the visit which he said would serve as encouragement to Board in its effort to improve it services to the guest of Allah.

He promised the commitment of the FCT Administration in ensuring that the board records the best hajj operation in years.

He disclosed that the Administration through the Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu was committed toward supporting the Board to excel in the forthcoming hajj operations.

“It was this commitment that inspired the Honourable Minister of state to mobilize the contractor handling the construction of the board’s permanent office complex to return back to site after abandonment for many months due to lack of funding.”

He therefore called on NAHCON to continue to support the board in its effort to serve the pilgrims.
