NAF Donates to Host Community in Ibadan
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Detachment, Ibadan on Tuesday in Ibadan donated a modern Bus-stop, drugs and insecticide treated nets to its host community to sustain the cordial relationship between them.
Air Cdr. Olatokunbo Adesanya, the Commander of the detachment told newsmen at the inauguration ceremony that it was also part of the command’s activities to celebrate the NAF’s 51st anniversary.
Adesanya said that NAF, which was established on April 18, 1964 had always believed in excellent relationship with host communities.
He said that the command had earlier organized medical outreach programe at Olorunda community, which featured distribution of drugs and insecticide treated nets to over 250 people.
Mr Peter Oladeji, the Caretaker Chairman, Lagelu Local Government commend the efforts of NAF towards the community, urging other security agencies to emulate such.
Oladeji said that the project was one of the projects planned to be executed by the council, saying NAF had just contributed the development of the area through its donations.
Also, Mr Kehinde Olaosebikan, the Central Chairman, Bashorun/Akobo Estate Landlord and Residents Association commended NAF for its usual contributions to the community.
Olaosebikan, said that the existence of the NAF detachment in their community was a blessing to their community, calling for such robust relationship from other security agencies.
He urged security agencies to emulate NAF, stating that such relationship the people would help them a lot in information gathering.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr Andrew Bella, Chairman, Property Development Corporation of Oyo State, Akobo Zone 3.
Among those attended are Airforce Officers from the command and hosts of community leaders and members.
