N-Power anniversary : Ekiti beneficiaries praise Buhari

N-Power beneficiaries in Ekiti State have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for engaging many youths in Nigeria into the programme to curtail the rate of youth unemployment in the country.

The President of N-Power beneficiaries in Ekiti State, Mr. Darasola Olaiya Oladimeji, gave the commendation in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during the one year celebration of the group, describing the president as “a man who is on a mission to tackle the poverty rate in Nigeria”.

Oladimeji, noted that the initiative have brought hope to many youths by the monthly payment of N30,000 stipend with the provision of electronic devices for the beneficiaries all over the country.

“Another set of beneficiary were already selected to be part of the great opportunity which will be inducted any moment from now”.

The N-Power beneficiaries called on the Federal Government that at the end of their 2 year programme, government should grant them permanent employment or grant them financial award to enable them to set up their own businesses.

They posited that government should ensure that the recruitment into the scheme is constant to allow many unemployed youths to benefit.

The President of the group also commended the Ekiti State Government and Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, for providing a lofty socio-political and economic environment for the success of the scheme in Ekiti State.

Oladimeji, implore all beneficiaries to utilize the golden and rear opportunity to develop themselves and contribute to the development of the nation at large.

In his speech at the ceremony, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, Mr. Taiwo Olatunbosun, commended President Buhari, and the APC led Federal Government as a promise keeper, by satisfying their electoral promise to the youths of the nation.

Olatunbosun, added that by this gesture, the President is committed to reducing crime and criminality in the society by engaging over 4,000 youths so far in Ekiti State and 8,000 already short listed again to add with the initiate 4,000 in the state.

He said it is a “thing of joy and pride for us as a member of the APC that produces the president that engaged over 12,000 youths who are unemployed”.

Olatunbosun, however condemned the past administration for neglecting the youths who are now being gainfully engaged in the N-Power programme.

He called on the youths to cultivate the habit of exercising their voting rights by electing good leadership that will provide them with gainful employment so that they can develop themselves.

Many speakers and stakeholders from both government, NOA chairman, other agencies, came to give solidarity messages to the youths, urging them to develop their skills and be masters of themselves after the programmes.
