My Motivation for Giving Back Comes from My Father – Kehinde Fafiyebi

In today’s world, where many lack access to basic resources, Kehinde Fafiyebi, an engineer and renowned entrepreneur, emphasizes the importance of giving back—a value he credits to his upbringing.

“My motivation for giving back comes from my father,” says Fafiyebi, reflecting on the lessons that shaped his commitment to youth empowerment and educational support.

“Growing up in an average home, my parents, especially my father, taught me the importance of giving.”

Fafiyebi’s deep-rooted sense of responsibility has driven him to support young people striving for better opportunities, especially those unable to further their education.

“I’ve always wanted to help others, particularly young people who may not have the resources to further their education,” he shares. “I’ve seen so many brilliant children who cannot afford school, and that saddens me.” This compassion has fueled his investment in programs that provide both educational and entrepreneurial support.

One of his key approaches is mentorship, where he helps young entrepreneurs navigate the challenges of business. “I mentor young entrepreneurs by sharing my experiences, guiding them to stay focused, and encouraging them to be resilient in their endeavors,” Fafiyebi explains.

Through mentorship, he aims to build a generation of focused, resilient business leaders prepared for the demands of today’s marketplace.

Fafiyebi, who leads FAFKAY Integrated Services, a company with operations spanning technology, travel, and real estate, believes diversity is critical for business success, especially in a globalized economy.

“Business today is increasingly global,” he explains. “High-performing organizations leverage workplace diversity and inclusion as a competitive advantage.”

According to Fafiyebi, technological advancements and global politics have opened new avenues for companies to enter international markets. “Market competition is now global, and to outperform peers, organizations must embrace workplace diversity.”

He draws examples from global companies, saying, “Global companies excelling in diversity perform better than their competitors and innovate faster. A prime example is Johnson & Johnson, which has been recognized for its commitment to diversity.”

Fafiyebi underscores that Nigeria, with over 200 ethnic groups, offers a rich cultural landscape that organizations should harness. “Cultural diversity is essential for business expansion, particularly into the Nigerian and African markets,” he notes, adding that diversity boosts creativity, financial performance, and access to talent.

Through his business endeavors and mentorship, the multi faceted businessman continues to advocate for giving back and embracing diversity as keys to growth and societal progress.
