‘Mourinho is hungry for success’ – Eto’o backs Man Utd to win silverware

The former Chelsea forward, who played under the Portuguese at Stamford Bridge, feels that he will be determined to get his first trophy win with the Red Devils ‘out of the way’
Samuel Eto’o says Jose Mourinho will be desperate to win a domestic trophy this season ahead of Manchester United’s League Cup derby clash with Manchester City.
The Red Devils currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders City, and failed to qualify for the Champions League under Louis van Gaal last term.
Eto’o, though, who played under Mourinho for at Inter in 2009-10 and Chelsea during the 2013-14 season, insists the Portuguese is just as focused on the domestic cups.
“Manchester United are not in the Champions Leauge this season and it looks as though it will be hard for them to win the Premier Leauge, so Jose will be desperate to win a domestic competition,” he told Fox Sports. “Unless you have played for him you cannot understand how hungry this man is for success or just how much he loves to win trophies.
“You are never going to hear Jose talk about it’s the taking part, he has one objective and that is to win games that lead to him winning trophies.
“He will want to win his first trophy at Manchester United, he will want to get that out of the way, and I know that he can achieve that this season.”
