As one of Nigeria’s richest men, Borno-born Muhammadu Indimi was recently in the wrong side of the news after he was condemned for donating a lecture hall to a thriving American University whereas so many of same institutions in his home country Nigeria are begging for such gesture. While he felt unapologetic for making such donation to the university he claimed 10 of his children attended, the oil tycoon, who is an in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari, said he has quietly done more than what people are riling against at home.

According to Indimi, in Akwa Ibom where his energy company operates from, he claimed to be fully committed to his corporate social responsibilities as a businessman. The Chairman of Oriental Energy has an ongoing 100 housing units in the state.

Besides that, the Forbes-rated businessman, it was said, has contributed immensely in seeing that the University attains all the requirements that enabled its Department of Petrochemical Engineering get accredited and certified as an affiliate of the University of Texas.

He is said to have also offered more than a 100 scholarship to students of the university while about 500 local women in Uyo got soft loans to start their own businesses. And in recognition of all these good deeds, the University of Uyo will be awarding the businessman an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration on November 4.

Just last week, Indimi, through his foundation, launched the building of 200 units of 3-bedroom flats for the internally displaced persons in Bama and Ngala towns both in Borno State and he promised to extend to other parts with time.
