Meet Lai Mohammed’s daughter-in-law, Idowu who heads Lagos new agency
THE rich get richer and the poor get poorer goes that popular catchphrase.
Some of Nigeria’s political class must be in love with this Matthew Effect of accumulated advantage phenomenon. Or how does one explain the recent appointment of Mrs. Idowu Mohammed, the daughter-in-law of the incumbent Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed as the executive secretary of the newly created Lagos environmental sanitation corps (LAGESC)?
Pretty Idowu, who is married to Hon. Folajimi Lai Mohammed, the minister’s son and member, Lagos state house of assembly representing Ikeja constituency 1, heads the new agency put in place to replace the former kick against indiscipline (KAI) and in charge of the cleaner Lagos initiative.
While some people cried nepotism, others are more concerned about getting the job done as nothing suggests that fun loving Idowu has the cognate experience in environmental issues.
Only recently, Idowu had her first media parley as boss of LAGSEC and when it was time to field questions from reporters, spot light gathered she became flustered thus provoking insinuations that while more qualified folks with no influence are on the streets looking for opportunities, the already made kids are still getting the scarce jobs. Now in her late 20s, Idowu is of a silver spoon breed, with a solid family pedigree.
She is the daughter of deceased socialite and casino mogul, Chief Solomon Ayoku who owns Golden gate restaurant. Her siblings include Taiwo and Kehinde Ayoku who is married to Tayo Alakiu and bore him two kids. Blessed with an admirable gait, and accessories owns play barn an upscale fun centre in Gbagada and Lekki, Lagos.
