Medview begins airlift of stranded passengers

Medview Airlines yesterday commenced airlift of its passengers bringing back over 300 passengers from Gatwick Airport, London.

The airline brought back the passengers with a leased Boeing 767 around 7am yesterday with plans to airlift its stranded passengers from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

According to a source the airline also intends to use the same aircraft to airlift its London bound passengers so as to clear its backlog before resuming its regular schedule.

The airline resumed normal schedule yesterday as its Boeing 747 aircraft came back in operations and would be airlifting passengers into the country regularly.

The source who explained the situation said that it was not in the airline’s nature to keep their passengers but that documentation of the leased aircraft also stalled airlifting

Medview in a statement had apologized to its passengers stating, “We are deeply sorry for all the inconveniences suffered by the affected passengers and everything possible within Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) in aviation is being done to airlift them”.

The airline said it will not abandon its obligations to passengers, saying that safety comes first in all its operations
