A professor of medicine, Philip Njemanze, has joined the league of those who want to take over from Governor Rocha’s Okorocha of Imo state in 2019.
Njemanze, while declaring his intension at Concorde Hotel, Owerri, also identified three types of governors in Nigeria. They are those who rely on allocation from the federation account, tax and spend governors and the innovative governors.
“I will be an innovative governor and my programme will be based on what I call Innovative Governor with Brilliant Originality (IGBO).”
This, he continued, he would do by tapping into the biggest human resource and creativity available to the state.
Quoting a 1964 World Bank report, he said the Eastern Nigeria was the fastest growing regional economy in the world based mainly on agricultural palm produce in Imo state.
