Mayweather v Pacquiao: Sponsorship Hits $13m
It’s by now well-worn territory that Mayweather-Pacquiao is raining money down for the fighters, the promoters, and Las Vegas in general. It’s also has been reported that sponsorship alone has pulled in over $13 million, by far a new record.
The lead sponsor for the fight is Tecate, which put in a $5.6 million bid to be the official beer of the event, beating out Corona’s $5.2 million bid. If that alone doesn’t sound impressive, understand that the most total sponsorship for any fight before now is believed to be between $3.5 and $4 million.
