Massive Turn out in Omole Estate, Uranta Hail Voters
Polling units in Omole Estate Phase 1 in Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State, witnessed massive turn out of voters who patiently waited for the malfunctioning card readers to be fixed so that they can be accredited and vote.
Aged women, nursing mothers, celebrities amongst others were part of the mammoth crowd that defied the rain to exercise their civic rights.
Speaking to Journalists after casting his vote, Secretary General of the Nigeria National Summit Group (NNSG), Mr. Tony Uranta, commended the people who came out en masse to exercise their civic rights, stating that regardless of the hitches, the process may still come out credible.
“I am happy that people have come out, they have vote strongly even in the so-called highbrow areas where people normally are apathetic, people came out as early as 6:30 am and waiting patiently to cast their votes.
“I am prayerful, regardless of the fact that the card readers are malfunctioning serially all over the country, regardless of the fact that there was an explosion of some kind in Enugu, also regardless of the fact that we have evidence that there is underage voting ongoing in some Northern states.
“I want to believe that this is going to turn out to be a very credible, peaceful and a reliable test of these candidates, such that whoever would emerge, will do so under a peaceful atmosphere.”
