Marriage is all about maturity, partnership, says Ananaba

Marriage is not a union of roses, but with maturity and sense of partnership, it will go on well. This was an advice from a former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Emeka Ananaba, after the wedding between Miss Nkeiru Serah igwesi and Mr. Chukwuemeka Ezenwa Okite, the son of a former chairman of Bende LGA, Architect Felix Okite, stating that it was not an easy task for any couple to go to the altar during the economic recession in the country.

He advised that young ones that go into marriage must be matured and see it as “going into partnership, should live with each other and understand the union and situation well’ as there are “fantasies” in the world.

He also advised that young couples should start by taking a look at and know what they are going into and love each other, stating “when the love is at low ebb, they should have faith in each other”, while his wife, Nne Ananaba described the union as sacred and from God.

Also advising young couples, the father of groom, Architect Felix Okite urged them to be straight forward in their union and to shun “cutting corners”, urging his son, Chukwuemeka, to live with his wife and ‘live as I lived with his mother” and to avoid any third party in their marriage.

While the groom pledged to love the wife to the end, the wife, Serah, assured him of ‘peaceful home”.

Earlier in the wedding church service conducted at the Wesley Methodist Church, Crowther Street, Umuahia, the Bishop of the Umuahia diocese of the church, Most Rev. Chibuzor Opoko, advised the couple on the tenets of marriage.
